Funeral Arrangements - introduction

The arrangements will be at the discretion of the family of the deceased. Funerals can be arranged by a Funeral Director. We have a list of Funeral Directors, places where family and friends can go to for a meal, local stations, taxi companies, and overnight accommodation.

The deceased may be placed in a shroud or in a coffin made of Willow, Hazel or other product whose use will not harm the environment. We have local suppliers for these.

Using Hazel for coffins encourages the correct management of woodland for several rare species of butterfly.

Cut flowers may be placed upon the grave but not in plastic wrapping. The wild flowers or bulbs planted over the deceased will soon provide a permanent and decorative tribute.
